The local store is holding another painting competition and I've started my entry. The models are mostly assembled, but remain unprimed. I wanted to do a test model before doing anything else. Vallejo Verdigris Glaze is really the perfect Sons of Horus color and I'd decided to use it the moment I'd seen it on the rack. The main question was primer color and a couple of other things. I decided to use one of my Epic Reavers, which I intend to use as "Counts as" Obliterators.
I'm quite happy with the end result and I'm going to start full out tomorrow morning. I've changed all of the close combat weapons to chain axes and used no aquilas. They will be "Counts as" Khorne Berserkers most of the time. I also intend to magnetize the backpacks so that they can be replaced by jump packs.
I think it will take me about 2 weeks from start to finish to complete them. I'll probably do some sort of small display board for them as well. They will also be making an appearance at Adepticon.
