Plaguebearers of... Tzeentch?

Since I first decided to do all Tzeentch for my demon army, I've been hunting for ways to make the other demons fit. Most of the demons work with simple conversions or even just a Tzeentchy paint job. Plaguebearers, not so much. Really none of the Nurgle models work as is. After searching around, I decided my best bet would be trees.

I figure if Tzeentch wanted to create his own brand of Nurgly demons, animating the plants might be the way to go. I decided on Wood Elf Dryads for my Plague Bearers. I decided to split up the box into two squads of 6 that could be combined if I wanted to. Since the basic painting style had to at least try to match the rest of the army I decided to experiment a little. I primed all 12 white, then washed 6 with Orgyn Flesh and the other 6 with Badab Black. This article is about the former.

I decided early that trying to wash white with brown and thinking it would be good was a mistake. I painted over the while thing with Scorched Brown and used various beige and greys to give the barky color. My goat style is not quite as good as the Goat Master, however I think I did well enough for the styles to be close. I painted the little "friends" with my normal Panda Style.I plan to do the other 6 in a birch style bark. I'll put up more pictures of them when they are done.
